Plot: The Mikaelson siblings, Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah, are the main characters of The Originals, a New Orleans-based spin-off series from The Vampire Diaries. They are sometimes referred to as the original vampires. Now that Marcel, his protégé, has taken control of New Orleans, Klaus has to remove him from office so he may retake the city he founded. Marcel seized over while it was being built, and Klaus left the town after being pursued by his father, Mikael. After a long absence, Klaus has returned, and his ego has driven him to assume the role of city ruler. Klaus acknowledges the unborn child and says, "Every King needs an heir." It is the first hybrid and werewolf child ever born.
