Plot: In 1899, widow Amalia True and young inventor Penance Adair ran an asylum for the Touched in London. The Touched are a group of primarily women who suddenly have unusual abilities. Fleeing to the safety of an orphanage, Beth Cassini accidentally reveals her powers in public, and the detective leads the team to the orphanage to find them. Amalia True and Penance Adair are the champions of this new underclass, building a home for the Touched while fighting off the forces on all sides.
