Plot: A disagreement between Thomas Mowbray and Henry Bolingbroke, King Richard's cousins, was directed to be resolved. Before the swords strike, Richard calls for a duel but breaks it off. The kingdom exiled them both. John Gaunt, the father of Bolingbroke, chastised the king before his demise, and Richard visited him. Following his capture of Gaunt's wealth and estate, Richard traveled to Ireland to join the rebel cause. Resuming his legacy, Bolingbroke went back. With the help of his allies, the Duke of York and Northumberland, Bolingbroke took Richard prisoner and anointed him king.
