Plot: When a crime is committed in New York City, two separate but inescapably linked organizations represent the victims. Their duties as 27th Precinct homicide detectives' representatives include conducting criminal investigations, gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses, and making an arrest when that evidence suggests one or more suspects. Prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office then took over the case, discussing plea deals and other agreements, gathering witnesses and supporting documentation, and pressing the people's case at the defendant's trial.
