Plot: In a Manhattan apartment building, every day after the owner leaves, the place becomes a paradise for pets until their owners return home. Max, a mongrel dog, lives happily with his owner, Katie, and is loved by his owner until one day, his owner brings home a furry and scruffy beagle, Duke. Max and Duke have difficulty getting along because they have very different worldviews and moral standards. However, when they find themselves together on the streets of New York, they must put aside their differences and stop an abandoned pet rabbit, Snowball, from gathering a group of other abandoned animals to attack humans before dinner.
