Plot: July 1945 in Berlin. For convenience, journalist Jake Geismer was outfitted in a captain's uniform when he arrived to cover the Potsdam conference. In addition, he is searching for Lina, an ex-girlfriend who is now a prostitute and desires to escape Berlin. Jack finds himself unintentionally pulled into a murder inquiry involving his former driver and mistress after a dead man's body washes ashore near Potsdam (on Russian soil).
