Plot: Because of his courage and fighting spirit, the Persian monarch adopted Dastan, an orphan, fifteen years ago. Fifteen years later, Dastan became betrothed to Princess Tamina of Alamut and launched an attack on the sacred city of Alamut with his two brothers and uncle. Tamina attempted to keep Dastan from accidentally obtaining the Sand of Time knife, but Dastan was falsely accused of poisoning the elderly monarch and forced to escape.
