Plot: The story's basic premise remains unchanged from the original work, drawing influence from the novel and the beloved 1952 Disney animated film while including fresh concepts for a contemporary readership. We initially see Wendy sword-fighting with her boys in their bedroom, but she has since changed into an arrogant, annoying, and whining young woman. She is no longer the kind, nurturing mother figure she once was. Wendy accuses John of causing the smashing of a mirror as a result of their antics and then disparages her mother's hopes for her future.
