Plot: What if a thirty-something free-spirited painter who counts the US President among her admirers became the subject of a boy's coming-of-age relationship? In the autumn of 1963, Adam Stafford, a junior high school student in Washington, DC, develops an obsession with Catherine Caswell, his new neighbor. He peeks in her windows, steams open her mail, reads her journal, and lurks in her closet. He witnesses CIA operatives meeting with her and a Cuban who is anti-Castro after they see him. She hires Adam to help with her garden, and they wind up becoming friends. Is this a problem exclusive to America?
